What is the Friends of Oakfield Surgery Patient Participation Group?
The Friends of Oakfield Surgery Patient Participation Group (or PPG for short) is a group of patients, carers and GP practice staff who meet at least 4 times a year. We work together to help improve services and facilities for the benefit of patients. Since April 2015, it has been a contractual requirement of NHS England for all GP practices to have a PPG.
What does the group do?
We build two-way communication between the practice and patients. We provide patient feedback to the practice on current procedures, processes and proposed new developments. We work collaboratively with the practice to improve services and facilities for patients. We raise funds for the practice to assist in the purchase of additional equipment and services for the benefit of patients. Over the years, along with kind donations we have raised in excess of £70k.
Who can join?
The PPG is open to every patient on the Oakfield practice list. All communities, groups, genders, ages, ethnicities and disabilities representing the patient list are encouraged to join. This is your opportunity to voice your ideas, opinions and views. If you would like to join the group please email email@example.com
